Just got back from France   Leave a comment

I’ve had another great season toing and froing between the UK and France trying to do as many comps as possible as well as skiing with the Freestyle Club in Les Deux Alpes. Found it hard this year because I have had to keep returning to school for the odd week so it’s been really hard for me to get in to a routine but hey I managed to spend around 15 weeks on snow so not all bad! Did a few of the SFR comps in France which turned out to be a disaster as each time they either cancelled through bad weather or changed the date, in Vars I waited around for 2 days and then when they decided to run it I had to jump in my Dad’s car and head out to Austria to meet up with the GB development squad for some pre-Brits training. Had a great 10 days in Hoff hitting the pro line jumps then back to school for 4 days !!! before heading out to Tignes for the British Championships. Wasn’t going there with any great expectations because I had moved up an age group to the Youth Category but I was stoked on the first day to get a Bronze in the ski cross, not bad considering I hadn’t been on race skis for a year and was skiing on someone elses skis! Then came slopestyle, I decided to go for it and hit the bigger jumps as I guessed that everyone in my category would be doing this but I was one of the only ones, thought it would give me the advantage because I pulled out some steezy jumps but got bronze which I was still stoked about and I made it in to the overall final. Final day came halfpipe, had a good feeling about it as I always enjoy the pipe, qualified first in my age group and fourth overall, pulled out my best run ever landing a sweet 720 which took me up to third on the overall podium behind the Machon brothers. All in all a great Brits, thought I skied well, had lots of fun with everyone. A massive thanks to my number one fan Dad, for supporting me all the way.
